There should be no individual awards handed out to a team that has lost 90+ games in 3 consecutive seasons. Hey Joe, how does winning MVP in the midst of horrendous season feel to you. I would hope it would be more bitter than sweet.

Hahaha! Really the Twins had an MVP? I would have voted for the beer vendor because the Twins aren't watchable if you're sober.

Mauer should do a Joe Kapp impersonation and say there was no MVP. He doesn't deserve an award that he didn't earn but is being given by default.

Cute little club, with its cute little awards. Quick reminder: Scott Diamond won best Rookie & Pitcher of the Year in 2012....just to give you an indication of how completely meaningless this award ceremony is.

This is sort of like handing out participation awards to the toddlers for competing in an activity!

Congratulations to Caleb Thielbar. Here's a local kid who proved that if you don't succeed at first, and you keep on trying, you can make your dream come true. He was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2009, but was eventually released after not going far in the minors. He came back home, pitched for the St. Paul Saints where he drew the attention of the Twins. They signed him and he worked his way up through the Twins minors and got his chance at the big leagues a few months into this season. He put together the longest streak of no run innings by any Twins rookie to start his career. Thank you to the baseball writers who recognized his achievement.

Sorry folks but when the twinks teams are this bad any kind of personal awards ring a bit hollow. Not sure why the teams needs all this back patting anyhow.
