Former space shuttle commandar Mark Kelly says outer space seems surprisingly real if you ignore plot holes.

At the time, NASA didn’t understand that by pointing at something and accelerating, you increase your altitude, slow down and instead move away. = = = Think of a toy boat trying to catch another while both are in a bowl of spinning water. Going faster means moving farther away from the center and higher up. Aiming the boat away from the center without a change in speed merely uses energy to 'lift' the boat and slows down the speed and it 'falls' back after the attempt. Or think of coins going around the big funnel at some store exits.
