Terry Ryan has a job for life with the Twins according to Jim Pohlad. Who cares about failures year after year? Just keep that Twins small ball philosophy and pitch to contact and good things will come. All the while we can watch former Twins excel elsewhere.

Come on Pat no one picked him up, he barely got an invite to the Red Sox because they needed another slugger. Every team passed on Ortiz this wasn't the Twins being cheap, Ortiz blossomed in Boston.

Ortiz was terrible as a Twin. He got released because he didn't perform. Hindsight is 20/20 but it absolutely made sense to send this stiff packing. When he got to Boston and started juicing then his career really took off.

Must be nice to be a journalist and get paid to criticize people 10 years later with the complete benefit of 20/20 hindsight. We should go back in the archives and find Reusse's article at the time saying how letting Ortiz go was the worst decision the Twins could make because he's going to be a star and lead his future team to World Series titles, etc. Oh wait, it doesn't exist....

He was in the Twins organization for six years. They knew him better than any other team. The decision to cut him was a colossal failure in talent evaluation.

3 of the first 4 comments are perfect examples of how the Pohlads have are able to field a AA team AND rake in mega millions in profits off a taxpayer funded stadium..

The biggest of many gaffes by the Twins. This has went from a has been to a epic joke... You know that guy that thinks he is smarter then everyone but is a fool.... Well get to know your Twins....

People Big Papi equals PEDs. He is just another fake.

samihoustonOct. 15, 1310:06 PM

I am curious. If a player, such as Papi, et al, quits juicing, how long does the player benefit from the steroids he introduced to his body? Anyone?

kesummOct. 15, 1310:11 PM

And just watch the current off season as they are outbid on every free agent pitcher of any value. They will always be a few million short on every deal and then expect us to give them credit for trying. The "Twins way" used to be about hustle and fundamentals. Today it is about scamming the fans and milking Target Field for every last penny.
