Supreme Court to review EPA rules on curbing global warming gases from factories, power plants

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court agreed Tuesday to decide whether to block key aspects of the Obama administration's plan aimed at cutting power plant and factory emissions of gases blamed for global warming.

"The question in the case is whether the Environmental Protection Agency's authority to regulate automobile emissions of greenhouses gases as air pollutants, which stemmed from a 2007 Supreme Court ruling, also applies to power plants and factories." - Seems pretty cut and dried. In what alternate universe would it be OK to regulate pollutants from one fossil fuel combustion source, but not from another? Should make for interesting arguments!

By a 5-4 vote, the court will probably rule that emiting greenhouse gas is free speech. The EPA should go after bigger fish as Congress has been one of the biggest producers of hot gas for a decade.
