I'm going to miss the WCHA Final 5, but willing to give the new Big Ten Tournament a shot. I think the Gophers/Badgers fan base will sell a few tickets this year, but next year in Detroit will be a tough sell with Michigan/Michigan State fan bases not nearly as large.

It sure will be different seeing Penn St., Michigan St. and Ohio St. instead of St. Cloud, UMD, and Denver. I liked seeing the small schools that only have D-1 hockey battle the big boys. It was great when Alaska-Anchorage made it. I will miss Michigan Tech's band also. Their team never made the Final 5, but the band always came and provided some good entertainment. The Big Ten will be a dry tournament, with all fans of Big Ten teams, no "little guy" to cheer for. That is what I'll miss most about the old WCHA.

I assume the two teams that finish 1-2 in the regular season will get a first day bye, and the teams will then be re-seeded for the semi's on Day 2?

JRB - I believe the top two teams get byes into Friday, but brackets are only done once. With that said, I would be very surprised if the Gophers don't get the evening games when they play in St Paul (JMO)
