BOSTON — David Ortiz's line drive sailed just beyond Torii Hunter's reach and into the Boston bullpen, sending the Tigers right fielder flopping headfirst over the wall after it.

Ortiz will never learn to hit to the opposite field.

Another great move by the Twins organization.

Love watching former Twins that couldn't play Ron-ball excel

Hope MLB is checking Papi for PEDs. Once a cheat, always a cheat.

Just weren't Twins type players. Ortiz Gomez Hardy Liriano on and on. Coaching has nothing to do with winning right Leslie?

Now, I don't blame the Twins for the long-ago Ortiz move, because he wasn't built for the Metrodome (neither the turf nor the outfield dimensions). However, I think letting Torii Hunter walk away was the worst decision the organization made in recent years. He is a gamer who plays every day and every play to win. He was also one of the few leaders willing to call out the front-office when he felt they were focusing too much on "the future" and not enough on winning NOW, and to call out his teammates when he felt they weren't doing their jobs.

Looking at guys on the Red Sox like Saltimacchia with beards is another reminder of why the Twins will never win with Gardy. He would never let those individuals "let down their hair" so to speak. It's probably on the list of what is in the "Twins way" so he'd find a way to drive those productive players out of town.
