If Billick hasn't left Minneapolis yet, it may be a good idea for Zygi to keep him here because as a Head Coach, Leslie Fazier is proving to be a good assistant.

Our only NFL caliber cornerback (Rhodes) and safety (Harrison) got banged up during the game. Rhodes returned to action, Harrison didn't. That only adds to the holes we have to fill in the draft. Please fire the whole front office before the draft, so we can fill more than a couple of holes with intelligent picks.

They all resort, staring with the coach, going to cliche book. As in, "We have to look at the film on Monday." Perhaps they should go see GRAVITY instead of their across the board dismal performance, because they are also LOST IN SPACE. And hey, when are you Sid going to finally admit that they are out of the playoffs. Thought I caught an optimistic reference in your column.

Classic Sid. Even on a day when the team deserves all the criticism it can get, Sid won't do it himself, just report what other people say about the team.

Would much rather here Freeman interviewed than 3rd string qb Ponder. Billick's right, this defense is hapless and needs to be rebuilt from the ground up and the scheme/coaches need to retool.

Can't wait for Ponder to return and things get turned around again. While the season isn't over yet the vikes should start identifying who they want to sign in free agency this off season. They have to identify the next John Carlson and Greg Jennings to bring in. Also they have to get Jared Allen signed to a big extension that will not be cheap. The Packers will not be able to sign all their people so there will be a couple of players there to sign. They are never good players until the moment they leave Green Bay anyway. Sid you have covered the vikings since they got started and keep telling us every August they obviously have a shot at the Super Bowl. They will guarantee a Super Bowl if they can just get that billion dollar plus Metrodome II built, Sid.

Our defense is trash. And what the heck is wrong with Kalil? It's like he's doing the old ole on every other play on purpose. Seriously. Freeman won't help the D play any better, but I guess we have to see if he's worth the money to sign for the next few years.

Sid,as long as you've been in the business you have to report negatively when called for or you have no credibility. Are you related to Larry King?

fenderu2Oct. 13, 1311:49 PM

I think Jamarca Sanford deserves a max contract. 15 or 20 million a year sound good??

hobie2Oct. 13, 1311:57 PM

Billick is a genius - after watching the Vikes performance against the lowly Panthers, who would have never thought of that?
