As a volunteer at the Animal Humane Society I have to tell you it warms my heart when our community steps up to rescue these special animals. Please know we always have special animals to adopt.

I hope the new owners fully understand they are bringing a special needs puppy/dog into their home and have the extra time and commitment that the dog needs to become a great companion.

Thank you to all who opened their homes to these precious animals who have lived such a terrible life!

There are many great rescues around the Twin Cities that have numerous dogs available. I was fortunate enough to get Moose from the ACT V rescue located in Bloomington. Best decision I ever made! Amazing dog.

Puppy mills are by definition a place for cruelty to animals. There needs to be laws in place to make them illegal, the owners should be named (not just a "facility in Pine River"), photographed and arrested. All these dogs, once they are healthy enough, should be neutered. Pictures of cute kids holding rescued puppies doesn't do it for me.

The only thing worse than animal abuse is child abuse. With either one, how can people be THAT SICK!? I've never been able to understand what compels someone to abuse animals (of all kinds) and kids. At one point in there life I imagine they were a beautiful, fun loving, happy kid themselves. What happened?
