Don’t miss this opportunity to see much talent on display. (This is a young team, so the best may be yet to come.)

NBA - step, step, step, dunk - Repeat WNBA - pass, behind the back pass, between the legs pass, shoot, rebound, etc.

The Minneapolis Lakers won five NBA championships, and now the Lynx have tied the Twins with two championships. Other than that, zero for anyone.

If you listen and watch the coach you will see that she is a master at keeping the stars on her team in balance. Her style is classic and how a coach molds and works the team. Add to that all the top shelf players and you can see why they win.

A wonderful overview of this super team. They have an infectious personality as a group that flows out of their teamwork. How many watchers really enjoyed the thrill of having Janel McCarville hit all her early shots in the final game, when it is rare for her to even take a shot. They are really a team that takes turns having a star---sometimes just for a quarter and then hand it off to another. Greatly written article. Thanks.

What a pleasure in this otherwise sports desert. A true team. A great coach. A loyal and growing fan base. All points of this article well taken. As a basketball fan, I'm a convert. Pass, pick, lay it up. Who needs dunks by millionaires with inflated egos? Strib, get some sports writers who appreciate what these women do and forget about Sid and his good old boys club.

curious as to why Sid doesn't promote the Lynx as he does other local sports teams?

Maybe we should be building the Lynx a new stadium instead of the Viqueens.

I'm one of the 200 season ticket holders who have been there for 15 years. I witnessed the pain and agony of this team in the early years and wondered if they'd ever show greatness. The last three years have made the first 12 worth while. This team is truly a team, not 5 women on the floor but a team of incredible players who share the ball and work the floor as well as entertain the fans. Congratulations Ladies on another stellar season and the championship!

And yet the only way the WNBA is viable is because they are subsidized by the NBA. All of this media adulation for this league yet the seats are still mostly empty.

The really big thing the Lynx lack is marketing. How many of their regular season games were on television, almost none!!! Until the playoffs the media coverage was almost nil. The Lynx players have more than succeeded on the court, however the front office has failed miserably on promoting the team.
