I don't know what Sid considers "stable". This program is anything but a stable one. And even though they went to one of those meaningless toilet bowls last year it doesn't change the fact that they finished LAST in their conference of the Big Ten and are headed for that dubious honor again this season. This football program is the absolute worst in the league.

A constant gopher athletic challenges make fan life very difficult. Just hire some who is a winner and can recruit. Please fix this long suffering painful situation. Or your happy as a FCS program.

"The one advantage Kill has over other programs is that he and this Gophers staff have been together so long that they will have a much better chance for continuity."------Huh? I must have missed where other teams' head coaches are missing games every year, thus creating the potential for continuity problems

Sid continues to be a U of M cheerleader. He is going to be very lonely if this mess continues. It is time for Kill to do the right thing and resign.

Keep at it Sid! You can be testy when challenged, which is not endearing; however, I really like your "homey" attitude. I think we "old geezers," are wiser than the youngsters might think. I have no qualms with Claeys as interim coach. He will do a good job. It sure beats hunting for a new head coach that would only take the job as a last resort.

Sid, the problem is Gopher football has been stable for almost five decades now. Stability is not what we're looking for. The bottom is nice and smooth, a good base for stability. The only fix is to hire the best coach money can buy; offer seven years at 5 million per year.

Christian Ponder did not lead the Vikings to 10-6 last year. Adrian Peterson did.

Hey Gophers - If you are looking for stability, Lane Kiffin is available...
