Mr Ritchie continues to be a loose cannon who instead of doing his job objectively, has just been a foot soldier for the DFL. Hope his replacement can rebuild credibility in our voting process and modernize it.

It's about time! As businesses and schools go paperless, I think it's smart and efficient to offer registration on-line. Having to fill out a paper registration forms is laughable. The question is why has it taken this long. MN has one of the highest voter turnout rates in the country. Making voting easier is one of the reasons for that high turnout. It only makes sense that we move forward, not backward. Thanks for making our lives easier. MN Congress, please get on board.

What is wrong, MN ?? ... It's more of the same Chicago politics going on in DC ... Quick, look the other way while this is implemented into law behind closed doors ...

Geez, what a happy accident that the heaviest users of internet technology are young people who happen to overwhelmingly vote Democrat!

It's just an online version of the paper form. It is well past the time that we do this and should need no further authorization than is needed for a paper version of the same thing. Richie has done a good thing here, which is why some of those legislators who want to make it harder for people to vote are complaining. Frankly, it's probably well past the time that the registration system should have moved to be exclusively online or in person at the election official's office without paper forms.

Our voting system will never be modernized as long as our legislature keeps looking at photo ID cards. Any person for about 200 bucks can get set up run off drivers licenses, state ID cards from any state or all the states that will pass through any scanner they use to detect fraud and most certainly will not be able to be detected by my grandmother who is a judge a a voting precinct. If you don't know how to make a fake ID Utube has plenty of videos to show you how and there are dozens of places to by the materials. Online registration and voting is the new technology and should be used. Nothing can be made completely fraud proof, somebody will figure out a way to beat anything.

You can't make it up. I guess we want more fraud than Cook county. Unbelievable!

Republicans keep trying to make it harder to register and harder to vote. They know that the more people vote the more likely TeaOP will lose. What we need next year is for the leg to pass a law supporting vote by mail, early voting, and guaranteeing that every citizen has a RIGHT TO VOTE, without interference by obstructionists.
