I'll get on here before the trolls kick in... Is Jerry Kill's rebuilding going as quickly as everybody wants -- No. But IMHO it *does* seem to be occurring. And Jerry really does seem to be a very dedicated coach, who has his "ducks in a row," so to speak. I've waited all my adult life (I'm 55) for a (consistently) good MN Gophers football team -- I guess a couple of more years won't hurt. And like I've said before -- If Wisconsin can build a winning football team, so can Minnesota! Go Gophers!

jpn111 What do you base this on?? They last won the Big 10 outright 53 years ago Kill has won 4 Big Ten games in 3 years, please spare me the 'Minnesota nice.' Check the record he built NOTHING at N. Illinois,it was handed to him!

Gophers fans deserve better than this. UM will always be the bottom feeders of the B1G with decisions like this. The best thing to do is for Kill to resign. The second best will be for UM to buyout his contract. It is clear that Kill is outmatached in the B1G and it is struggling at recruiting.

I wish Jerry nothing but the best during this time of rest and focusing on his family and health. I wish his coaches and players all the best. May they find strength in eachother and fight hard every week. That being said, somebody do me a favor and tap me on the shoulder when this football program achieves relevance. I bleed maroon and gold, but there are too many other options in this town for me to invest time and money into this program that has struggled to achieve mediocrity.

Congrats Souhan, you helped push him out! The problem for Souhan is that he'll come back. The good news for the rest of us is that he'll come back. This will fry Souhan...that it isn't a resignation. Now he'll start in on the "acting" head coach, and why that's bad for U of M. When will we see that column Souhan...maybe you're typing it right now.

Fireklink and Cole, So is sports only about winning or is it about class and doing the right thing. The Gophers may not equal the Buckeyes or Badgers in wins...but the move they made today in supporting Coach Kill puts them in the top in sportmanship and class! GO GOPHERS!

The solution to winning is not always to fire the coach... Recruit better players is the solution, but that is not as simple as you think. The Power houses in Football have booster that go under the table and pay money and gifts to get the kids to come there. This is absolutely the truth.. If you think differently, pull your head out of the sand. Money buys all
