I saw a similar perspective, plus a look at the actual petition, that was created by MinnesotaConnected. The article was titled "Plaza Theater in Maplewood Set to Undergo a Change in Management". I did my homework and signed the petition. I would rather not take any chances.

Yeah, I'm sure that ownership by a church will have no effect whatsoever on the selection of films to be shown at the theater. I suppose it will become church property, which means it will technically be a charity-owned facility and thus tax exempt except for its unrelated business income, so the city just lost money. Such a deal. Suckers.
