I see 0-3 coming. But this loss will be with no points. Clock is ticking on Yeo's tenure and fan patience. Tired of it!! Win a cup - nothing else matters. Not progress, not one more round deeper in the playoffs, not optomistic performances. Why is it that the Blackhawks, Canucks, Bruins have all found a way to dominate in the past few years but the Wild, a team in arguably the best hockey state in the country, can't seem to find a winning formula?? Unreal.

Why do you assume that the Wild should be a great hockey team because they play in the state of hockey? You do realize our home-grown talent don't just automatically play for the Wild right? This team just got out of a rebuilding mode. Give them some time to mesh and find their identity. We aren't even 3 games into the season and you are already calling for Yeo's head.

The Guru might be right on many of the points made, but to say the only thing that matters is to win the cup. To me, that is ridiculous. By the way, the Canucks didn't win a Cup, so they must have failed, right? We never seem to play well against the Preds, so we might lose tonight. Need to get the lead early and dominate zone time the way we did for most of the Kings game and like we did in the 2nd period against the Ducks. We've shown some signs, but maybe Zucker can improve our finishing touch around the net. GO WILD!

gopherfan67 - I wasn't suggesting that home grown talent ends up playing for the Wild. My point is that, in a state where hockey is king, it's pro franchise ought to be one of the best in the leauge on a regular basis. Why isn't it???? These other teams, and I left Detroit off of the list, have been able to build and sustain top performance. How many cycles of "rebuilding" and "gaining an identity" is everyone going to allow them to have before you quit paying attention and quit buying tickets?? Other fans in other citties do just that and it sends a message. Look at Chicago. Empty building for years. I guess the ownership finally got sick of losing money and decided to do something about it. Uncle Leo is laughing all the way to the bank with his long list of season ticket lemmings that will continuously pay for mediocrity. Winning the cup IS the only thing that matters. What else is there?? It's been 13 years, and they really haven't even come that close.

Jakemano - Don't get me wrong, I want this team to be successful. I just see a lot of misses with this franchise. Lot's of draft picks that didn't pan out - and I'd toss Gaborik into that group too. Poor decisions on free agent signings - Backstrom is looking like the mistake this time around. I'd even argue that, while Parise is a great player and anyone would be crazy not to want him on their team, did they strap themselves with too high of a cost for him given his rank on the overall talent list in the league?? I don't think he's a $98m guy. And then there is the coach. He, like Richards cannot seem to extract the maximum out of his players. There is no excuse for the inconsistency and slow starts. That's all coaching and game planning. I know it's only two games in but we've seen this before and until proven otherwise, this team is not looking like a legitimate contender.
