I can see a 9 yr boarding the plane while a crowd is at the front of the boarding line, but how did he get past TSA? This is a breakdown.

This kid is SMART! I know...not good but 9 years old...channel that smarts someday. Kind of funny given how smart TSA thinks they are! And Delta too!

He went through TSA just like everyone else. He didn't have weapons or anything else suspicious. It was Delta that broke down. I know 9 year olds that could pull this off.

bizsmith - you can't get through the security gates without a boarding pass. So yes, he outsmarted TSA too.

I don't think we should make a mountain out of a mole hill here. This is a kid who was properly screened. How many parents let their 9 year old hold the family boarding passes? Very easy to see how this kid would have blended in as a tag along with an adult. One daring 9 year old. Would never even have entered my mind at that age.

I'm not sure that I can believe this story. A Delta flight that was not full? I would love to take a flight some time where there is not full body contact with the stranger sitting next to me.

biz - No one is supposed to be able to get passed TSA WITHOUT A BOARDING PASS! The kid did not have a one. Explain that.

Goodness, in all the stories that have been published on this incident, not once have any of the "journalists" asked the million dollar question: Just where in the heck are the parents (or as it might be, singular, parent)of this kid?! Come on, a nine year old taking the train for two days in a row (skipping school too perhaps) all the way to the airport, stealing someone else's luggage, boarding a plane to Vegas knowing full well how extremely wrong the whole plot is. I'd be really curious to hear what the parent(s) story is on this.
