How things have changed. My parents still have fond memories -- really -- of the motel they stayed at near the Florida Keys in 1959, where the toaster started at a unit on one end and was passed down to the other and the roach spray made the opposite trip. That, and having to find out-of-the-way side roads to change into dresses and white shirts with ties to get into restaurants when you were traveling, as there were few fast-food chains along the way. Sometimes I really don't think we appreciate how well-off we are.
