ONCE AGAIN folks, this is a GOVERNMENT run program ....like the IRS or SS....expect poor service, long wait times, and frustration. The interaction you will have if you call the state will be with someone who was trained by the GOVERNMENT.

the federal system although not directly linked to the IRS system verifies info with the IRS system. If you don't pay taxes and file returns the IRS doesn't necessarily have your credentials to "verify" you. For those of us who normally pay income taxes don't have the verification issues, but also don't need obamacare. those that don't pay taxes need obamacare. Ironic?

dflleft-ONCE AGAIN folks, this is a GOVERNMENT run program ....like the IRS or SS....expect poor service, long wait times, and frustration.*****Yep I bet if you ran the website it would be a well oiled machine. I am actually impressed it has worked as well as it has considering the traffic and complexity. Anytime an application has to interface with outside databases it is just another point of failure. Of course what would I know with 25 years of IT experience and having brought up many complicated web applications. I could recite many instances of private industry websites performing poorly. Like large merchants whose sites keep crashing when they get extra traffic. I won't waste your time as I've determined if you hate government your mind can't be changed. I have a rule where I never buy a new model car until it has proven itself over a few years. I need to help my daughter use the MNSURE site but like my car rule I will do so a month or so from now after the inpatient people help them get through the problems.

What?? How could this 'identity verification' thing possibly know if someone had previously purchased 'pet insurance' and the name of someone's pet? This smacks of 'big brother'. Someone needs to explain exactly WHAT kinds of personal information is somehow tied into all these databases. This is SCARY.

Tried three times, once a "service" was unavailable, twice they could not validate my identity. Sent in the snail mail form today.

Wait, identity check? Where are the libs screaming about identity verification?! We can't have people being forced to provide ID! If I am an undocumented worker, how does one verify my identity?

A tip that I found really helpful. Go to the individual insurance companies websites and gather data there. They have more information than MNSure and easier to navigate. The price quotes etc are the same as the MNSure cite. My biggest problem is that I can't get a response on the health care applications for the tax rebate. Also the real security on the website is amazing horrible. Twenty minutes to verify who I am, but yet the site always me to save my password in the browser and the topper is that you can navigate away from the website then if you go back you don't have to log back in. It just remembers your session and keeps you logged in. Very bad especially if you try to log in on a public computer. You could get all their info just by going back to the website since it remembers you didn't log out.

Jackie-your article this morning said Nevada and Mass both have doctor searches. This article says they don't. Also...if you migrate the 500,000 uninsured by Jan 1st that is more daily volume than the exchange is handling. How is this high volume?

Plaque...you would be in the unemployment line if you implemented a system with this much visibility that performed this dreadfully.

Anybody else wondering why they aren't releasing numbers for people who have signed up, only up number who created usernames? California news is reporting only single digit numbers for people who have signed up there and over 600,000 hits on the website. Sounds like the numbers for E-pull tabs...
