What do they have to trade? He has alot of untouchable players, no GM would touch most of the players on this sorry excuse of a major league team.

If they had a decent scouting department, they could part with talent other than Buxton and Sano, their only two star prospects. But we don't have a good scouting department, and haven't produced anybody through the draft. They need to overhaul the department, starting with the firing of Deron Johnson and his staff, who have given us nothing. They obviously cannot judge talent.

I read this as "Ryan-speak" for 2014 not being much of a year, either. But he did say he's got the budget to go out and get people, and he's got ownership's support. Let's all remember the promises he's making, during this call with season-ticket holders. The thing I find hard to believe is the article saying no one seemed to have a problem with the decision to keep Gardenhire as Manager, for another two years. How is that possible? Sounds like no one complained about that decision at all, yet this site is filled with people who have said they're not renewing - surely, some of them were part of this call?

Don't give away Buxton and Sano! We don't need another Ramos for Matt Capps type deal.

The Twins haven't made decent trade in years. We've either dumped salary, or had our pockets picked. They have two players with value. If we lose them, we have a AA squad. I can't see the Twins improving through trades anytime soon. Signing the right free agents looks like the only quick fix, and TR spends too much time digging through the bargain bin. Terry, they're there for a reason.

Do we have any takers for Mauer? That way trader Terry can say he pulled out all the stops to improve the team. And also can then say he got the paroll under $50 million a year.

Somebody give Terry Ryan a reality check. You do need freeagency pick ups....don't think Tori Hunter helped Detroit? Beg to differ...he's caught in a time warp and the game of baseball has past him by. You will really see how far it's past him by this year. They were asking to much of Baltimore and LA for Morneu...what did he expect? They/the rest of MLB doesn't like dealing with Terry because he wants so much more in return and is unwilling to compromise...what a joke he is.

“We’re not a team that goes out and builds a team through the [free-agent] market. When we’ve built teams that have been successful, it’s been through our system. And we’re getting there again,” the manager said. “Ultimately, it’s going to fall on the young players we’re talking about to come up together and make it happen. … We’re close.” --Ron Gardenhire. Are we still playing in the Metrodome? I'm paying $70 a ticket to be told this crap? Spend some money. Not Yankee money, but spend some money. Make me believe you care about your fans. Take a look at what Cleveland just did. Mr. Pohlad, tell me we're at least as deserving as Indian fans.

Correction to my previous post...Ron Gardenhire said we're close. I don't think so!
