It's all up to the House.. they can pass the clean CR the Senate sent them and end the drama.. or they can continue to score points with their base and torpedo the economy once again.

dogman, and to you i would say the ball is in Obamas court. The economy is in the tank anyways , maybe this will expose what a fraud it is. The housing and stock market held up by printing 85 billion a month by the feds, unemployment unchanged, higher taxes, lower monthly job creation, more part time jobs and consumer confidence down.

"It's all up to the House.. they can pass the clean CR the Senate sent them and end the drama.. or they can continue to score points with their base and torpedo the economy once again." -- I could say the opposite: It's all up to Senate.. they can pass the CR as the House sent them (spending bill originate in the house) and end the drama. The executive has already put the employer half of ObamaCare on hold for at least a year, why not level the field and put it ALL on hold and let the government continue? Another option would be for the senate to pass a CR that cuts social spending by the same amount that is required to fund ObamaCare.

It's the Republicans in the House that have planted a poison pill (defunding Obamacare) in the CR. They know full well that the Senate and Obama won't sign off on that. They tried to defund Obamacare over 40 times already, so this is same-old-same-old. If they take the poison pill out, the CR will fly through. If the government shuts down, the Republicans in the House own the shutdown.

localguy, if a business fails, which is basically what the USA is, who gets fired, not the board members or executives its the CEO. Obama is the CEO of the biggest company in the world, this is all on him ultimately.

Yes, yes! We sure dont want to interfere with this awesome economy! Did Obama read about the killer economy from a teleprompter? Thanks for the laugh, Mr. Wizard.

The Freeloader Party passes multiple bills that would increase the deficit, and the lemmings that make up their base interprets that as being fiscally responsible... what a spectacle

This is all on the Republicans in the House. They had their chance to negotiate on this when the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) was passed. They lost two Presidential elections where Obamacare was a major issue. They need to stop holding America hostage. Work this through the normal legislative process. If they can't get it passed, then either America supports Obamacare (still, they already showed they did in the last two Presidential elections) or they will vote out those preventing Obamacare from being repealed. If they don't have the votes to make it happen, they don't have the support.

I have the solution to everything, give Obama his Obamacare and give him his debt ceiling increase and open the government doors . All Obama has to do is rescind the 733 exemptions to businesses and unions and start it on time Jan 1 as the law was written. To all those with thumbs down explain why he can pick and choose who and when doesnt follow the law of the land.

Thumbs down to theagonybho because language allowing exemptions is written right into the bill. In other words, granting exemptions is part of the law, got it?
