I wonder if Jerry Kill will be a candidate for that job? Probably not...........

Gruden will step in at USC.

"........The Trojans were hit with severe NCAA sanctions a few months after Kiffin arrived — he had nothing to do with the wrongdoing that wound up costing the school 30 scholarships over three years and the right to go to the postseason twice ........" That's called being set up for failure....

A classic no win situation at that time for U of M - hire Brewster or Kiffin? Like choosing to travel on Hindenburg or Titanic ...

He has been a train wreck everywhere he has been a head coach.

mrknowitallSep. 29, 1310:11 AM

tschne1 -- A train wreck as head coach? How so? He has been head coach 3 times. Oakland -- How has any coach done there in the last decade? They have had 7 head coaches in the last 11 years. The organization is a mess. Tennessee -- He went 7 - 6, took them to a bowl. They have not equaled that record in the 3 years after he left. USC -- As zyxwvu noted, he was set up for failure with the cuts in scholarships and sanctions. You don't have to like Kiffin but at least look at the facts.

nessmessSep. 29, 1311:11 AM USC = Bunch of cold water fans (LOOSERS)!!!_______A USC grad could probably spell "losers " correctly, however. Kiffin is the poster child of a person that has coasted on a last name while burning every bridge he's crossed. He'll never get another marquee coaching job again...and it couldn't happen to a more deserving guy.

That's a great picture of Kiffin. Perfectly captures his personality. You can almost hear the Mr. Burns voice in the background, saying "Excellent".

Was Minnesota correct in not hiring him 2007? Who knows.

Lane Kiffin is a big mouth punk.
