To the contrary, we know exactly, with 100% certainty, where John Kline and Erik Paulsen stand---it is where Eric Canter tells them to stand, how to vote, when to eat, go home, sleep .......
The republicans are in for one heck of a surprise come next election. I'll double down on that.
This isn't a game. This isn't poker. We are dealing with millions of real Americans who will face severe economic hardship if Republicans go through with this plan to shut down the government and throw the economy back into recession. If this happens, the first paycheck that should be cancelled should belong to Ted Cruz. And in a perfect world, we would also freeze all of his bank accounts and throw him in jail on charges of public endangerment and treason.
Really, Rep. Paulsen? You might vote responsibly and not to unnecessarily shut down the government and stress the economy? Really? Please, make me a believer.
By saying nothing about legislators like Bachmann and Cruz; Boehner, Cantor, Mitchell, and McCain have created this mess. Now, deal with it. I used to listen to the ideas of the republican party, and still think many of their goals are worthy. However, the extreme wing of the party has now taken over, and I cannot buy into the republican ideas any longer, with all the baggage that they have attached and the games they play. I wish we could get a quote from Ronald Reagan concerning the republican party mess. Rule number one was that "republicans should never criticize other republicans." Maybe that needs to change?
The game is not poker; it is tic tac toe. Nobody wins.
The government will shut down. And the sky won't fall. And if you're a liberal that is the unkindest cut of all.
I thought blackmail and extortion was illegal?
A little over 13 months from now when the ACA is active and successful, the Senate is safely in democratic control and the House flips blue... the same teapublicans rooting for a shutdown and downplaying the effects of a default will still be claiming victory, trumpeting their virtue, and denying that their values and tactics reflect the majority of Americans
I am ashamed of our elected officials who think it is a game to play with the lives of so many Americans. Only two Republicans sided with the Dems on their vote and to those two...thank you.
