The race for the American League wild cards is growing incredibly tense during the season’s final weekend. But Pedro Hernandez removed most of the tension from Target Field on Friday night.

2 managers on separate courses: Terry Franciona and Ron Gardenhire. Francona has taken a 68-94 Indians team and transformed it into a 90-70 (so far) playoff contender. Gardenhire has taken a 66-96 team (2 games worse than Cleveland last year) and crafted it into a 66-94 non-entity...basically the same record as last year. Despite 2 pennants and 2 World Series championships, Francona has never won Manager of the Year, and never finished higher than 4th in voting. Despite no pennants and a career .222 playoff win percentage, Gardenhire has won Manager of the Year once and finished 2nd in voting 5 times. Guess which manager should win MoY this season, and which one should no longer be with his team next year?

Twins are such a mess they are unwatchable and as someone that has been a partial season ticket holder since they opened the new ball park, I through in the towel and got out for next year! Until they get new people running this organization, I wont be back!

Can someone please tell me why there is no one in the media calling for Gardy or Ryan to be fired? I don't get it....this is about leadership or lack there of!

Please, lets just get this season over with. Its disgusting, embarrassing, painful. Sick to my stomach. Twins, if you can't come back next year with a better product, then just don't come back until you can produce major league ball. Your hitting is AAA at best and your pitchers would have trouble making it in AA (except for the Twins organization of course.) Nuff said.

It's hard to compete against playoff teams when most of the current Twins started the season in the minor leagues. Difficult to blame Gardy for that. I think the P. Hernendez and L. Hendricks experiments should be over. Plouffe's September surge looks good only because he's been putrid the rest of the season. Bottomline...even with the young studs prepping in minor, the Twins near-term future (2-4 years) is bleak. The young guys will need some time to adjust to major league pitching and Terry Ryan is tooooooooo cheap to spend the money to bring significant talent upgrades in the starting pitching staff and few other key spots. Bleak...

Trade Plouffe now. I don't think his value will get any higher. We won't get much more than mid-level prospects. But if he tanks next year, we would not get anything. Maybe Plouffe has turned the corner and will become a .270, 20 HR guy for the next few years. But I think that's about a 25% probability. So it's time to sell "high"

94 losses...Plouffeie may have gone 8 for 8 or 18 for 18 and Jimi Hendrix might have pitched a few good innings tonight...so what? Another loss. 94 and counting...

If Tampa or Texas are looking for help from the Twins, you might as well know that it is not coming. Pathetic.
