Nope. They should be playing Bethel-Thompson. He won the pre-season QB competition. He deserves a shot in the show.

Well if Cassell doesn't do well ... then go the 3rd stringer. Frazier is really too stupid to know he's going to get fired if he sticks with Ponder. Call Brad Childress up and see if he would have done things differently.

Cassell will be better than Spergon Wynn!

We win, Cassel starts the next game. We lose, put Ponder back in and get ready to draft a QB next season. In fact, we probably should do that anyway.

This is why you came in here in the 1st place Matt, make the most of this golden opportunity to get be a starter again in the NFL. I don't want to put any extra pressure on you, but the season is pretty much hanging on your shoulders! Go get them Steelers!!!

It's the Steelers - 0-4 - one of the two worst teams in the NFL. The worst backup QB in the NFL can do well against them, so if Cassel torches them, it proves zip. Nothing. Nada... This game has less meaning regarding personnel than the off season

Matt Cassel deserves more then one game to show his talent as starting QB. I would give him three games at least! After that; Viking could look at Brett Farve in Mississippi or go after Tebow! Yes, Tebow - he might not be the best passer but he know how to win! After all; the game is about coming out ahead with a win!

Cassel will start and play the rest of the season barring injury. The Vikes have not had a functioning game-day QB in 3 years. Ponder can play in practice, but quickly loses accuracy and effectiveness in the pressure of a game. Spielman whiffed big-time with a player who looks great in the pre-draft workouts and Frazier exacerbated the problem buy judging Ponder on his off-season and promising practice performances rather than his freezing and mind-numbingly bad performance in the games.

Play the kid with a cannon for an arm. Develop him, we are losing every game anyway so what have you got to lose? His accuracy cannot be any worse than Ponder's.
