A couple of hours before Sen. Ted Cruz launched his doomed filibuster, his Republican colleagues staged an intervention.
I know the pundits think that Cruz' grandstanding is a brilliant ploy that will strengthen his bid to be President (God forbid!) in 2016, but I don't get it. The only people impressed by his act are those who already think he's great. He certainly isn't winning any converts by his shenanigans. His willingness to tank the U.S. economy in the quixotic pursuit of defunding Obamacare (which isn't going to happen) is only turning off massive numbers of potential voters, not to mention his own party. Am I missing something here?
Just think if all this wasted time had been spent on finding and proposing ways to improve Obamacare so we ALL could comfortably live with it!
Cruz is only grandstanding for his own political aspirations. Nice to know he'll throw the whole country under the bus to score some fanfare for himself. Nuf said.
Just keep talking yourself into a corner.
Two words: "Carnival Cruz"
At. Least if you turn off the sound Michelle Bachman almost looks like she could be a respectable leader. Cruz, even with the sound off, still comes across like the crazy uncle you really hope won't show up for Thanksgiving.
Aren't pancakes flat
I don't think Rick Perry is even this dumb.
The fact that some in the GOP have enough grasp on reality to criticize and shun Cruz, gives me some hope that even with Republicans in it, government by the Constitution is still salvageable. Texas, not so much.
another politician in love with the sound of his own voice.
