The Vikings are marketing the NFL in London this week, with the brand and the ballgame sharing the focus.

Totally agree about the greed factor for this game. I think it stinks that the Vikings are giving up a home game for what? To market a product that London doesn't want?

Two 0-3 teams are the supposed to sell the NFL to Europeans? Reminds me of Jack Lemmon's sorry character in Glengary Glenross.

Rugby makes the NFL players look like puffed-up Michelin Men running into one another and bouncing off.

Londoners are sharp. Spend some time in a bar there and you'll discover that they'll see through this obvious money-play. Imagine the jokes they'll tell about the two winless American teams and the owner convicted of fraud. Cheers, mate!

Maybe it shouldn't be taken so serious and everyone should just relax and enjoy the game from a different venue.

I am leaving for London myself tonight. Not for the Vikes but for work for a week. Will go to Wembley Stadium on Sunday night to hang out outside, but wont buy a ticket. I am still ticked off about the stadium issue here.

It's just marketing. Don't try to understand it.

Playing safe after last week's Kill debacle, Souhan? What a fluff piece.

As I said elsewhere, earlier - I spent two years discussing NFL football coming to the U.K., and what the locals thought of the idea. No interest, whatsoever. The NFL is kidding itself if they think there's a market for American footie in the U.K. - and probably elsewhere, in Europe.
