I would rather be last in passing in a run-oriented conference (than be last in rushing). You can check the Big Ten football statistics, and you will be shocked to learn that the Gophers lead Nebraska in rushing offense. Think of that--the Gopher's have been in a position to win every game by running the ball--and they have. After the Iowa game, we will know how good the balance on offense is.

I actually like Liedner better then Nelson.. Not sure why but the O seems to flow better with him in the game..

Leidner and Nelson have each rushed for more than 120 yards in a game {VS. A 100SOMETHING RANKED, CUPCAKE/STIFF WITH 190# LB's} this season, but they’ve combined to lead one of the worst passing attacks in the nation.

I think Nelson is a better over all athlete than Leidner. Nelson ran a similar offense at Mankato West. I have watched Leidner play at lakeville; i think he is a better passer than Nelson. Leidner's performance last weekend shocked me a little. i didn't think he could run that well and he has never shied away from contact. I think we will eventually see a QB rotation similar to what Kill had at N.Illinois.

gooferfolly. You can talk stats all you want. but there is only ONE stat that means anything. That stat says the Gophers are 4-0. If you use stats as a guide the Gophers should have gotten beat soundly by both UNLV and San Jose State. Guess what?

Through 4 games, the Gophers have completed 33 passes. That's 8 per game. You're not going to win many games in the B1G if you only complete 8 passes.
