WASHINGTON – Top scientists from a variety of fields say they are about as certain that global warming is a real, man-made threat as they are that cigarettes kill.

"...scientists have gathered in Stockholm for a meeting of a U.N. panel on climate change, and they will probably release a report saying it is “extremely likely” — which they define as 95 percent certain — that humans are mostly to blame for temperatures that have climbed since 1951."

This article is a classic example of the propaganda that "environmental journalists" churn out in support of the global warming hoax. It neglects (perhaps purposefully) to mention that the UN report is also expected to acknowledge:

a) the absence of any warming for the past 15 years; and

b) the almost complete failure of computer modeled predictions (upon which the hoax is entirely based) to predict or account for a) above

When reading this or similar articles on climate change, it's important to check on the reporter's background. For example, the author of this article is a member of the Society of Environmental Journalists, whose website is a self-serving clearinghouse for alarmist propaganda.

"...for some non-scientists, that’s just not good enough."-------------------------Why no mention of the untold thousands of REAL scientists who put holes the size of Mac trucks in all the AGW theories?

It is because there are no "untold thousands." There are a few and most of them get funding from energy companies and such. If you hurt your leg and 9 doctors tell you it is broken and finally one will tell you it's just bruised, which do you think it is? Really?

I can understand how it's fun and exciting to think that our puny presence on this planet has such wide-ranging effects that we can even cancel out the effects of a nearby, and constantly fluctuating, fusion reactor that is hundreds-of-thousands of times the size of the earth. That our insignificant extractions and emissions have a larger impact than all the volacanoes that are constantly erupting and spewing seriously huge volumes of gases and particulates into the atmosphere. And the redistributionists are EXTREMELY skilled at playing the doomsday card, thereby generating cult-like enthusiasm among the hoardes of casual headline scanners ("Honey...humans are heating up the planet...says so right here in the paper.") I can't deny that it can be VERY compelling and there was a time in the not-too-distant past when I, too, was an AGW enthusiast. I woke up and wised up.

Hucksters and con-men are forever evolving their methods and message as they practice their age-old profession. Today they cloak themselves in earthy hues and shriek about impending climate doom but the end game is the same as they continue to preach the horrors in store for us lest we buy a bottle of their tonic. But regardless of the nature of the "crisis" being touted, the progressive recipe of the tonic they're prescribing never changes.
