UNITED NATIONS — President Barack Obama on Tuesday welcomed the new Iranian government's pursuit of a "more moderate course," saying it should offer the basis for a breakthrough on Iran's nuclear impasse with the United Nations and the U.S. He signaled a willingness to directly engage Iran's leaders, tasking Secretary of State John Kerry with pursuing that diplomacy with Tehran.

Wow, he never knows when to stop, does he. Is he going to the breakout session on how to use peaceful diplomacy?

Great opportunity to tell the UN "its your Red Line not mine" and escape all leadership responsibility. Seriously, if we can't have term limits, can we at least at require him not to speak more more than 3 times a week?

30 million more Americans with health insurance, removing chemical weapons from Assad, eliminating Bin Laden, and preventing a nuclear Iran. Not bad.

30 million more Americans with health insurance, removing chemical weapons from Assad, eliminating Bin Laden, and preventing a nuclear Iran. Not bad.--------------Not based on fact, but not bad at all, if Obama did any of these. There were only 45 Million without insurance before obamacare and 30 Million will still be without insurance. Obama had nothing to do with removing Chemical weapons, that was all Russian's doing. and he got bin laden based on info obtained because of BUSH's polices. As for preventing a nuclear Iran, don't know how you even imagine that has happened.

This is good. Contrast this with how Bush and Cheney bungled the election of Ahmedinejad, when Cheney tried to tell the Iranian people who to vote for. I have to laugh at the folks who still can't understand that Obama's cutting the Pakistani ISI out of the loop and having the guts to take the political risk of a failed strike on Bin Laden is what made the thing happen. You can have all the information in the world but it is worthless if you can't execute the appropriate action.

re: Sounds about right, will talk with Assad, Putin, pretty much any foreign leader but not the Republicans in Congress or the Senate.. Some leader..... What would they talk about? The debate over Obamacare is OVER. IT'S THE LAW. I find it appalling that House Republicans cheered and celebrated passing a bill that would strip 30 Million Americans of their health care, bring back denying health insurance for pre existing conditions, and putting in jeopardy almost any American who might have a health care crisis.

re: As for preventing a nuclear Iran, don't know how you even imagine that has happened..... The fact is Obama's sanctions have worked in Iran. And now diplomacy can take over. Yes, time will tell regarding the relationship between Iran and America but this is much better than the saber rattling we have seen over the years with Iran.

re: and he got bin laden based on info obtained because of BUSH's polices...... so in your eyes joe, Bush gets credit for getting bin Laden but bears no responsibility for the financial crisis?
