If there are any journeyman pitchers with career ERAs over 5, Terry Ryan will find them and overpay them. Maybe TR should adopt the George Costanza "Do the opposite" strategy this off season. Then he might make some moves that would help the team

Sidd Finch would only be about 53 now, maybe terrible terry could find him...

Joe Mauer is your third baseman. Don't waste him at 1st base. He is one of the best athletes on the team so he will be great at third.

I don't like spending 3.50 a gallon for gas to get to work but I have to to get the job done. Terry Ryans long history of using has beens and broken down klunkers doesn't work. So Terry spend the money and get the job done before Target field turns into a ghost town.

Time to boycott the Twins. They said build them a new stadium so they can be competitive. So far the old money they spent was on JM. after that nothing. I got to think JM wished he was in Boston hitting doubles off the Green Monster. Average about .350 with 80 doubles, 20 home runs and 100 rbi.

Everyone of these guys are way out of Ryan's price range. Find a list of players no other team will want, then we will have a good idea who Ryan might sign.

Did Ryan really say that? Payroll could be down 60 Million from 3 years ago! Why isn't ownership being held accountable?

Torii Hunter is a good example of the fact that money is certainly a huge factor with free-agents, but not always the deal breaker. He and other free-agents over the years have made it clear that winning and getting to the playoffs and winning, are very high on the agenda for free-agents. Success breeds success, and I think Hunter saw the course the Twins were on at the time under Gardehire and etc as postseason success just wasn't in the cards. Most quality free-agents that would be available are not going to be attracted to the Twins unless there are some extraordinary, knee-jerk type decisions and moves made by the organization. Ballplayers are no different than the "fans," they like to win ...and of course make money.

Love how these articles are written as if the reader should be 'concerned' with the dollar figures involved...just in THERE'S NO SALARY CAP IN MLB! Rather then imply the Pohlads need help pinching their pennies ask the more pertinent question 'Why do you own a team when you clearly don't care about winning?' Or are we supposed to believe a high payroll team is guaranteed to lose money?
