OAKLAND, CALIF. – With his innings piling up, Andrew Albers was a candidate to be removed from the Twins rotation. But manager Ron Gardenhire said following Friday’s 11-0 loss to Oakland that the rookie lefthander will get the ball one more time.

Let's hope the Twins can win 3 more games this year so Gardy can get number 1000 and retire.

Is training camp over yet?

Please make it go away.

Even Gardy can barely stand to watch such feeble play. If Twins games were a fight, they would've been stopped at least a couple of rounds ago.

The Twins are actually playing over their heads. They really aren't as good as this game would indicate.

“If we just made a couple plays behind him, it’s a different story, we’re still in the ballgame,” Gardenhire said. No, you weren't. You didn't score any runs. You're not in the game until you actually put up a fight.

This is beyond ridiculous. Ownership needs to be responsible for putting the proper management team and players on the field so this total embarrassment will not continue. Stop signing discounted rehab players that no other team would even consider. Ownership should open your pocket books or the fans should close theirs and save their hard earned dollars.

Ex-Twin of the night: Torii Hunter helped the Tigers carve their division-clinching magic number to 3 last night in the Tigers' 12-5 rout of the ChiSox. Torii was 4 for 5 with a R, 3RBI, a BB, and his 441st career 2B (passing Hall of Famers Luke Appling and Roberto Clemente on the all-time list). Runnerup: Franicisco Liriano, who placed the Pirates in position to defeat the Reds with 8 IP of 3 H and 2 ER, and left holding a 5-2 lead, but the Bucs' bullpen imploded and lost the game in extra innings. Honorable Mention: Denard Span (Nationals) 2 for 5, 2 RBI, and a 3B, Wilson Ramos (Nationals) 2 for 4 with his 56th RBI. Over and out. P.S. Justin Morneau has proved to be a bust for the Pirates with only 1 RBI and 4 R in 66 plate appearances. Twins fans are very familiar with Morneau's September struggles. One wonders why the Pirates made this deal.

When Joe Mauer gets "cleared to play" my suggestion is to trade him this off season for a quality #1 starter and really good prospects. The Twins may have to eat some of Joe's payroll in the deal. Sure hometown folks will be upset but lets not kid ourselves no one wants 90% of the Twins players and we have to rebuild in every aspect of this franchise. If the winds of Fall don't bring change to the way this franchise operates then we may not see a winning team for at least 4 to 5 more years. Last night's game is living proof the "Twins are a mess"!!
