GET RID OF HIM,PERIOD! This whole injury thing with him is a joke. Get over him Twins front office, yes he was raised here but resides in Florida! Poster boy for his generation!

That must have been some tick-foul....

Shut him down. There is nothing to be gained by trying to get him back now. So we win maybe one more game. So what? Let him stay home, help with the twins, and get to working out when he feels better. And, if he doesn't come around, I assume the Twins have insurance to cover his salary. Best for him and for the team.

If Morneau is an example of how concussions can affect a player then maybe it is best for him and his family, now including twins, to retire and go out a winner, well, sort-of. He can remain a Twin employee and move he and his family back to MN for the summer. If he lives in FL for more than 183 days per year, he will only pay MN taxes on employee income and business interests in MN. The rest of his income such as investment income, e,g,, dividends, interest and capital gains will be free from state income tax. Recalling the Paul Allen sound bite they play on K F A N, "Boy, you have to love this guy".

Really. Who cares? I only wish he was on the current road trip so he would have to watch whats its going to be like for the next 6 years of his contract. I'm not sure why all this hate myself. I guess I just expected a bit more out of a player making 24 million. I understand he's suffering from a concussion but its always something with Mauer. Put him at first next year so we can eliminate the catcher takes a pounding excuse that we're constantly feed.

Is it possible this team is worse than last year, and the year before? When one player is being paid 45% of the current roster's salary, I excluded Blackburn, and that player has chronic injury syndrome, I would maintain they are worse. Perhaps this off-season, fans will stop listening to false promises by the Twins. I am beginning to think the only way a message can be sent to the owners is to stop buying products advertised on radio and TV of their games.

The Twins are terrible with or without him. Terry Ryan has brought back the Calvin Griffith era where we saw every good player leave and be a star on other teams. Now they are trying to convince us that Buxton and Sano are sure superstars but even if they are, we have no supporting cast to build around. Get an aggressive GM with a vision for competing every year.

Mauer who?

themarvmeyerSep. 21, 13 6:21 PM

No doubt plenty of conversation between Morneau and Mauer about concussions. If you recall Morneau's injury of knee to head while sliding did not appear to be serious at the beginning. Eventually, it was the defining moment of his career. No doubt, Morneau is urging ultra-caution and Mauer is listening.

Besides concussions, Morneau and Mauer no doubt talk about being in a pennant race again. Morneau has probably already rid himself of his Twins rose-colored glasses. Mauer knows Twins are 2-3 years away from being competitive (only if management changes) and longer to be a real contender. I'm thinking Mauer might go for a trade to a contender and the time would never be better than this winter.
