Every hockey fan in Minneosta knows that outdoor hockey resides here. And, it's not even the Winter "Classic". There are other outdoor games in the NHL this year, and the Wild did not get one. **** the NHL and their ESPN / TMZ ways of doing business. If the best hockey state in the US has to be ignored, something is wrong with your product. I'll be sure to ignore any NHL trash until we get one.

Who cares about Washington? The NHL really screwed this up. Pretty much par for the course with them though. If they actually had people with a clue running this league they could be bigger than the NBA but the dopes at the helm just don't get it.

The Washington Capitals won't even be a playoff team next year.

It's probably because while in other markets fans are in their house watching the game, we're outdoors playing it.

I can understand the NHL being slow in bringing the Winter Classic to MN. What's the attraction to drive ratings? Because people here play hockey on ponds? I played hockey on ponds, and I didn't grow-up here. Why Wash DC? At minimum they have a marquee player, the Wild do not. But even more importantly, it's the nation's capital. For all you know, the President and members of Congress might show-up. Who might show up at a game here, Stifler, or Jesse Ventura? Baseball stadiums are a horrible venue for the game. Fans are too far away. At least with special purpose football stadiums, they are a bit closer. That is why if the Wild get it, it should be at TCF. BTW, I doubt any Winter Classic will top Wings vs Leafs at The Big House. 120,000 fans, amazing.

Until this event is finally taken either north of Boston or west of Chicago (where it belongs), I'm done with it.

MN is behind the rest of the nation by at least 10 years. So look for the game to be here in 2020.

After the Gophers play outdoors next year many fans will realize outdoor hockey games are a joke.
