Bail denied for Pa. man charged with sending email to White House threatening to kill Obama

SCRANTON, Pa. — A federal judge has denied bail for a northeastern Pennsylvania man accused of threatening to kill President Barack Obama last month and stockpiling ammunition ahead of the president's visit to the area.

Let's see. He's a very bright, very accomplished young man who has a very supportive family. And he just happened to send a letter to the President threatening to kill him. And he just happens to have a large cache of ammunition that he's stockpiling. But there is no reason to consider this young man a danger. Mmmm-hmmmm. Guns don't kill people. Well-intentioned, but slightly misguided people with guns kill people. I'd say he presents a risk. I mean it.
