Austrian cop killer: Trucker by day, ruthless hunter by night

GROSSPRIEL, Austria — In Austria, hunting deer and wild boar is a hallowed way of life, one that follows age-old codes of honor and requires a license bestowed only after passing rigorous exams. In that exalted world, Alois Huber was a brazen outlaw even before he went on a murderous rampage that left four people dead.

Has Senator Feinstein complained about AR-15's with this mass murder yet? The story doesn't mention anything about them but she seldom needs facts before speaking out.

See, everyone is law abiding until they break the law. BTW, do you think he had enough guns?

Here in the US, 4 people killed won't make front page any more.

Dude was just a hunter, having some fun. No, he shouldn't have murdered the police and the whole story is a tragedy. Still, the Austrian game laws were clearly frustrating to sportsmen who enjoy the kill. Clearly their laws for so-called poachers need to be loosened up. IMHO as a proud Minnesota sportsman.

Hmmm. Austria has a mass shooting resulting in 4 deaths and it is international news since it's the wost they've had in 60 years. How does the US compare? In 2013 so far there have been at least 16 "mass shootings" in which 4 or more people died. The US averages nearly two "mass shootings" per month, which works out to a rate of "mass shootings" about 1400 times higher than Austria's. If we adjust for population size, it works out to about a rate only 40 times higher. Phew.

Mnbusdr- And your point is what? We have 40 times the mentally ill? I agree.

jphaun - you rambling incoherently only shows your total lack of compassion for the victims and the sad ending for the murderer, while making no credible point at all. Heaven help you, jphaun.

Sorry Liberal Luddites. 3D printers are en route and gun control laws are archaic. What's a Fascist government to do?

The question, of course, was rhetorical. The answer is quite straightforward. Address mental illness and ENFORCE the laws already on the books. (you know, the laws already accepted by the populace)

ljfrommin - I would strongly suggest you learn the meanings of words before haphazardly using them, especially out of character. Liberal, luddite, archaic, fascist, and 3D printers. There is very little if any evidence that any of what you said makes sense. You are promoting anarchy and wild west 1800s mentality where the last person standing is the king for the moment. Besides being backwards, your supported positions are neandertholic.
