How red flags got missed in Navy Yard shooter's history, giving him clean background checks

WASHINGTON — The government's sprawling system of background checks and security clearances is so unreliable it's virtually impossible to adequately investigate the nearly 5 million Americans who have them and make sure they can be trusted with access to military and sensitive civilian buildings, an Associated Press review found.

Perhaps the NSA and other snooping government agencies were too busy reading and listening to their lovers communications. Or Mine... Or Yours?

They weren't missed. They were ignored in the name of political correctness - just like the Fort Hood shooter and the Boston Bombers. The government had all these guys dead to rights before their crimes were committed. However their superiors were afraid to do anything for fear of being labeled a bigot and a -phobe. That fear is well founded. If you try to discipline a person in a "protected class", you become the bad guy. So people like the aforementioned are damned with faint praise and allowed to move on. This is one of America's dirty little secrets and it's been going on for decades. This PC stuff is literally killing us. We can't protect our data. We can't secure our borders. We can't keep people safe on a military base. But by golly, we can grope people in the airport, audit them for their political beliefs and check their driver's license before they buy Sudafed. That'll show everybody we mean business.

I find it interesting that immediately after the shooting, there were several Reps and Senators denouncing AR-15 type rifles. Turns out, it is now being quietly reported this guy entered the Navy Yard with a plain old shotgun. He then stole a handgun off the body of a cop he shot with the shotgun. Why have these details not been reported as widely as the condemnation of AR-15's? It seems the media has an ax to grind and since the facts don't match their propaganda pieces, they simply have stopped reporting the facts. We may be closer to Communist Russia, China or North Korea than we think!

Shlomo Katz says, "To lay the blame at the foot of the security clearance apparatus and to think that by changing some security clearance laws we're going to fix the problem is ridiculous," he said. Huh? We frisk all the wrong people including Grandma while these security clearance people get a pass. The government behemoth is crushing us all. Serious downsizing in order.
