White Sox knock out Pelfrey, Twins again

If there was one team the Twins could master this year, it was Chicago. But of late, that’s proving more difficult.

86 down and 4 to go. The excitement builds as we approach 90. Let the season long celebration of mediocrity continue...And just as a side note, we may be one of Major League Baseball's worst teams, but not only do we have some of MLB's highest ticket prices, we also are the leader in having the most cute, lovable, and darling player nicknames ending in ie or y. I think my favorite is "Plouffeie" What's yours?

I just listened to Gardenhire's post game comments. How do these "reporters" in good conscious cash their paychecks? The same questions are asked game after every game. What did you think about this play? How about what are you going to do to get this team a win.

Am I nuts, I keep watching'-(I do like Pinto). Note to Dick and Bert, attendance means "being present at a place or event". Tickets sold means tickets sold.

Please do not bring Pelfrey back next year. I'll take what's behind door number two instead.

" --- attendance means "being present at a place or event"." Only in the real world. In the world you are referring to attendance is tickets sold - absolutely nothing to do with turnstile count. The way the Twins count you could have three people watching a "sellout." "Doubleheader" is another term which is not used correctly.

"Let the season long celebration of mediocrity continue".... geez..... the twins have a long way to go to reach mediocrity.....

Minnesotans deserve better.... we have endured the twins the last three years, and now have to put up with the vikings as well. Why are the fans right and management with their huge egos, wrong? The only reason anybody goes to the twins games, is because of season ticket sales, and the tickets are already bought and paid for. You can bet that the season ticket owners aren't the ones in the stands though.... after giving away their tickets.... If the Pohlads had any compassion as all, they would help subsidize those poor hustlers/scalpers outside the stadium trying to sell tickets for $5 each and getting zero takers... Minnesotans deserve better.

:The Twins were 10-6 against the White Sox entering the series".....how does that remotely constitute a 'sure thing'? Especially considering the Sox won 3 of 4 in the last series the two met....

PS... If the vikes lose to Cleveland this weekend, I would suggest that Wilf never show his face in Minnesota again..... and put the team up for sale. Already our chances for making the playoffs, statistically, are approaching a single digit percent. A loss this weekend to a poor team, would seal the deal. Ponder that little fact.

elcerrito...86 down and 4 to go @@@ speaking of cute names, I 'fondly' remember early on in the season after an infrequent Twins win, the comment was "looks like all the 'fans' predicting 90+ losses got the night off" which of course was sarcastically posted. No doubt, the 'fans' certainly have gotten it right far more times than the big self-proclaimed "expert" himself.
