“Fight for My Soul” is clearly a spiritual album, although Lang never mentions the Lord or Jesus by name. His previous album, “Turn Around,” was more overtly religious and earned a Grammy for best rock gospel album. ---Jon seems to be perplexed that he didn't try and shove "the Lord or Jesus" down his throat during the interview but yet still felt the need to write it into his article. I took it as a warning to stay away because his is "religious".

I remember back in the early 90s running into him at Guitar Center in Roseville ...barely a teenager... surrounded by 3 blond telecasters... switching from one to the next... apparently trying to decide which to buy. Who woulda thunk he'd make it as big as he did?

Met him several times. Good person. Good luck with your career.

Dear Star-Tribune and Jon Bream: Jonny Lang is from Fargo, not Minneapolis. It appears to current Strib policy to refer to anyone with any connection to Minnesota, anywhere in Minnesota, as being from "Minneapolis." No, people from Fargo, St. Paul, the suburbs, etc. are not from "Minneapolis."

michaelpatrick...perhaps Johnny Lang himself considers that he is from Minneapolis...and Fargo was just the place he was born.
