Let's face it, you would have to look very hard to find anyone outside of Winter Park to believe that C.Ponder is an NFL quality QB. Why is it so difficult for the Vikes to see Ponder for the bust he is??? Think about this. While everyone agrees that Joe Webb is a nice guy and a real team player, it took the Vikes 4 years to figure out that Webb was not an NFL QB and here we are going through the same thing with Ponder. I know it frustrates all fans to see the vikes spinning their wheels at the QB position as we all know where this season is heading and it begs the question......why does it have to be this way? I am not claiming that M.Bethel-McCloud is an NFL QB but I would bet my house that he couldn't do any worse than Ponder, so why not give him a chance? The Vikes evaluate Ponder on what he does in practice, believing that he can then do the same when there are live bullets flying and when it doesn't happen that way they tell us for 3 yrs now, "we'll have to look at the tape to see what went wrong" Try using some duct "tape" to keep Ponder from getting on the field. Watching the Vikes do the slow circle of the drain but they prefer to live in denial.

I thought coming out of pre season that B-M looked the best. Yes I know he played against the dregs for his only real playtime, but he just had this calmness in his pocket presence and of course a much stonger arm than the other QB's who are both no. 2 at best anywhere but here.

Everyone knew the vikings would not be able to live up to all the preseason hype that was coming out of Winter Park. What's even worse is the local yokel media that contiunes to buy all the lies from Winter Park so they can continue to be allowed access to the thin talent level within the vikings organization. The viking's amatuer coaching staff and below average starting QB was again exposed last Sunday in Detroit and will again be exposed in Chicago as the Bears will no doubt put the nail in the coffin to the vikings playoff hopes with a comfortable 13 point victory over the purple. The only bright spot for the purple will be that the chants calling for the firing of Rick "The franchise destroyer" Spielman and Leslie "Clueless" Frazier from the ever dwindling number of purple homers will only get louder and louder with each forthcoming loss.

Why Ponder did not get enough playing time during 4 pre-season games with new receivers? Tom Brady had way more playing time than Ponder even his knee got heart. welker and Boldin had good game with new teams, but Jennings and Wallace did not. The difference is the QB. I do understand at this point Ponder is the best option for us. But it was a big mistake from management to ignore this last year. They had an opportunity to land Smith or Palmer. Ponder can not be better than what he is right now. We can go 5-11 the best.

Ponder plays defense now too? Yes Ponder didnt look good but so didnt the o-line or the whole defense. I seem to recall the whole team looking just as bad a Ponder did. Anyone who thinks other than Peterson's 1st run that all is on Ponder really has no clue what they are talking about. We all kno2 Ponder isnt very good but it wasnt all on him and I'd rather see Ponder I n there than Cassell

Lets hope they can play a little better than last year at soldier field... If you remember that was a disaster. but this team doesnt give you a lot of confidence that will change now does it?

Definition of stupidity is "continuing to do the same thing over and over and expecting different results". Speilman, Frazier, Sid Hartman, Paul Allen and all the other experts and homers can chirp all want about Ponder but us armchair QB's who don't know anything, know this...the Vikes will lose on Sunday against the Bears and will not have a winning record at the end of the year. I see them with 4 wins with Ponder as QB. Last year it was Harvin, this year the mutiny within the locker room will spread. Speilman has such an ego and is so afraid of his reputation getting hammered if he admits Ponder was a reach in the draft and has turned out to be a bust.

Lol at Matt Forte being part of a "tough" combination, the guy is 40 years old and has 50 year old legs. It's impossible to establish a running game on Soldier Filed's horrendous turf anyway.
