I think we can safely put Ms. Kelm-Helgen on the long list of public officials, led by Governor Dayton and Minneapolis Mayor Rybak, who reside in Mr. Wilf's pocket.

I've never been in favor of public funding for stadiums or other corporate interests. I also believe that federal tax law should penalize recipients of such deals in order to prevent organizations of playing one city against another or one state against another in an attempt to get a sweetheart deal. It is a zero sum game for taxpayers. For every business or sports deal we gain, we loose another one to a different municipality offering an even better deal.

It was never going to be stopped. And as far as Wil'fs finances, he is not really putting any of his own money into this. There is a $200 million interest free loan, naming rights, personal seating licenses and so on for Wilf

Like, me you may hat the subsidy to the Vikings, but the fact is that the city of Minneapolis is benefiting from the new stadium. Already the hospitality tax (a tax mostly on visitors to the city) has generated a surplus of $5 million for the city. The facts is the facts, it was a good deal for MPLS!

What an absolute farce. Dayton can kiss his re-election goodbye.

Would someone clarify the funding please (the Strib never will)? It is my understanding that the Wilfs are contributing $0 of their own money upfront and that their source of funds is a line of credit from the NFL and expected proceeds from naming rights. Is this correct?

And the dog and pony show continues. Nobody really expected any thing different.

The report says, the NFL has assured the authority that it is committed to fulfill the obligations under the stadium use agreement: Gonna get that in writing or will Dayton, Mondale and their lackies just take it on fiath?

The fix was in on this deal from the get-go. Authorities could have videotape of Zygi personally burying Jimmy Hoffa out in a NJ swamp somewhere, and this project would still be going forward.
