the best part of Lariano's success is that is shows how inept Anderson is as a pitching coach. He gave up on Lariano.

Can't blame Sou... I'd get tired of writing about the Twins, too. I think a lot of Twins fans are secretly Pirates fans for the rest of the season.

I know I am showing my age, but I'd love for the Pirates to become the kind of franchise they were in the 1960's and 70's. Some tremendous talent (Clemente, Stargell, Alou, Mazeroski, etc), but also some guys who played above their inherent talent level, plus some great team play. And in the post-season? If you want to see how the great hitters can play in the Series, look at what Clemente did in 1971 and Stargell did in 1979, even though both were in their late thirties. You'll see why the Pirates were World Champs those two years, and why each was a WS MVP.
