From the article: "To be sure, growth rates have lagged in many low-income countries, and widening inequality is an enormously troubling problem in many parts of the world." Well, except for those two caveats....

Progress is not measured by economic well-being along. It must also have a moral and ethical dimension to be meaningful. I don't see all the economic progress resulting in an improvement in the moral well-being of mankind.
