No excuses Matt, you're a PROfessional. You should be ready to play every time you buckle the chinstrap on Sundays. Get it right fella.

By all means Matt, feel free to let Peppers run by you and solve our QB problem.

The offensive line struggled in pass protection all day, but that doesn't excuse some of the decisions Christian Ponder made with the football in his hands. The third-year quarterback was awful at times, often failing to put the ball into the hands of his playmakers outside of a simple handoff. For all the talent on this offense, there is no one to drive the car.

I just watched the game again on NFL Rewind. He was brutal, although I can see what he means about the corrections. BTW: It's amazing all the 8 and 9 men in the box looks the Lions gave the Vikes. On first and second down you can count on the D putting at least 8 guys in the box, even when the Vikes had two receivers out wide. That leaves three guys to cover two receivers and Ponder can't get it to anyone. Many times it was because Ponder simply didn't get time to throw, however, many times Ponder bolted out of the pocket way too fast. Regardless, it's pathetic we can't pass the ball in those situations. And, AP trying to block anybody is a joke.

Is Matt Kalil moonlighting at the Strib? Apparently declaring Mr. Kalil, "fat and happy" (a figurative, not literal, phrase) is punishable at the local newspaper. What I meant was that the LT might be resting on his laurels a bit after a very successful first season, and that perhaps a bit more dedication to the profession was the reason for his first game lethargy. Sheesh, relax Strib.....

Correction: "was the *solution* to his first game lethargy."

Kalil can say whatever he wants to say. The facts are Kalil's played like crap all preseason, and it was more of the same in Detroit. Shut up, strap-it-on,and play Mr. Kalil. The Vikings are paying you a lot of money to do an important job-so do it!

Was it really necessary to put in silent counts? Ford Field is typically a morgue. Sounds like it was an unnecessary precaution. I said it before and I will say it again. All they had to do was give Jennings/Cassel for Carson Palmer. But, Frazier is so pot-committed to Ponder that he can't/won't go back now.

This team won't win 5 games! Peppers will eat Kalil alive on Sunday if he plays like he did last week. I am "Pondering" if I still want to be a fan after 40 years of this nonsense!Hey Matt here's a new and innovative thought prepare for your job and be ready for the season opener! We already have two excellent excuse makers on the roster! One wears #7 and the other is named Les!

Kalil sounds like the typical overpaid athlete. He collects a paycheck and that is all that matters. Fact is...he played horribly. Peppers has ZERO tackles last week and was a complete non factor. Let's see what happens this week, but Kalil better take his job more seriously.
