Rhode Island man says it's a miracle his son survived a grizzly mauling in Alaska

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The father of a Rhode Island man who was mauled by a grizzly bear in Alaska said Wednesday it's a miracle that his son is alive after suffering bites to his head and leg.

You gotta shoot a bear in the shoulder joints to keep it from being able to chase you . Their heart beat is very slow, so they can still fight/chase after being shot. The guide should have known this!

What fun!! Put a bullet into an animal just for the visceral pleasure of it. They'll probably have to go and 'put down' the dangerous animal. blergh!

I'm reminded of an old cartoon I saw years ago. A deer is holding a hunting rifle and talking to another deer as a hunter is frantically diving into some brush. "See, they're not so macho when you can shoot back."

The hunter becomes the hunted. Happens a lot with grizzly bears and the big cats and the big sharks. These are the big predators masters of their environments, or whats left of them. So don't mess with them you puny humans, you are no match for them.
