"The maximum annual household income limit at the lofts ranges from $34,620 for one occupant to $57,300 for six occupants. Rents vary from $846 a month for 500- to 680-square-foot studio apartments to $1,229 for a three-bedroom townhouse spanning up to 1,850 square feet." $846 for a 500 square foot studio is $100 higher than the average $750 rent for a one bedroom in Minneapolis and seems like pretty high cost for someone earning under $16 per hour. I doubt that Dave Ramsey would approve.

It's incredibly high, even if they can write off some portion of the cost as business expense. This is not affordable housing, it's designer fallacy that will serve only to perpetuate the artists' low economic status.

Looks like a great renovation and place to live, but doesn't exactly sound like an equal opportunity housing development.

This is such a great project! The twin cities have a very strong and robust artist community and I'm ecstatic to see this building being repurposed to support our artist community! Bravo!

Don't artists know that there's rarely any money to be made when you make your hobby your occupation? We all choose our occupations, and thus incomes, in life. Yes, some have an easier time but nearly anyone can get student loans and obtain a marketable degree. A degree that allows people to have hobbies, like art. Then apartments like this wouldn't have to be subsidized. Oops, I mean "affordable".

aesthetics - (art) the branch of philosophy dealing with beauty and taste (emphasizing the evaluative criteria that are applied to art); "traditional aesthetics assumed the existence of universal and timeless criteria of artistic value" esthetics artistic creation, artistic production, art - the creation of beautiful or significant things. Tobster, you would have been perfectly happy living in 1950's era Communist East Germany. Quality of life beyond basic creature comforts is wasted on you. How sad.

It would be nice if you included some interior views of what they look like...
