I'd say Hicks is through along with Plouffe and Parmalee...they're'll see Joe play alot of first...plenty of outfielders to replace Hicks and they'll need a third basemen....never really have been impressed by PLouffe...he's an awful fielder..

"Third baseman Trevor Plouffe... might need to produce to save his job" - - - LaVelle? Hello??? Trevor is gone. He has proven again and again that he cannot produce over a stretch or when it matters. A few games in September games that mean nothing does not make up for the month after month after month where he barely bats his weight and RBI totals are not much higher than his age. They've tried him at every position and he's at the end of his Twins rope. We NEED more than a little September hope from a pretty bad 3rd baseman.

Wayyyyyyyy to early to give up on Hicks. Let's hope he learned a LOT this year and brings that stored knowledge/experience to 2014. Giving up on him would be the last thing the Twins will do.

If there were 21,000 people at Target Field last night a good 1/3 of them must have watched the whole game from the restrooms. It's almost an oxymoron the way Gardenhire keeps making statements referring to next spring as if it's a forgone conclusion he'll be back, and Ryan stating nothing will be decided regarding Gardenhire until after the season is over. I think folks around these parts deserve being told the truth and not a mouthful of BS.

I just want the team to reach 100 losses so the whole "build a new stadium and the talent will come" argument can be debunked once and for all. 90+ losses these past years has pretty much done that already though. Maybe the team will bring back the ingenious "pay to watch batting practice" next year?

Those all gung-ho about adding more instant replay to baseball need only watch the Vikings first game, to see the reality of what it will do to the grand old game. There were countless reviews that led to a game slogging on for 3 1/2 hours. This is the direction baseball is heading.

Even when you try not to be pessimistic the Twins make it almost impossible not to be. It's getting to be the routine here spend all of September auditioning players for the next season, players that have for the most part been up and down already during the current season, and listening to Gardenhire talk like he has all the answers to everything except managing a professionally run and winning baseball team. These are not new players, supposedly the majority of them have been with the team in spring training, spent time in the "Bigs" or are career minor league'rs of which the Twins become infatuated with year after year. No mentioned what-so-ever of disgust, or embarrassment, or even a token apology from Gardenhire for the third September in a row the team is auditioning for next year while other teams are strengthening their rosters for post-season. I'm too am tired of the BS that flows from Terry Ryans and St Peters mouth constantly, and have gone over to the other side regarding Gardenhire. A new, fresh approach is absolutely required from a totally unattached to the organization new manager and coaches.

wouldn't you rather get it RIGHT than worry about length of the game? I'm tired of the HUMAN ELEMENT screwing up.

Plouffe has had his chances.....Sano needs to be brought up........We have also seen enough of Parmelee..Hicks had betterspend the entire year at AAA next year.....Its also a shame we held onto WIllingham a year too long..His value was at an all time high last winter , but now we have no choice but to hold onto him and hope like heck he does well enough to warrent a trade in July of 2014.....ANd we will have to over pay by a mile to get a top tier ace starter.....which means we will do nothing and be just as horrible next year....Your 2013 power , no speed ( 45 stolen bases and 30 caught stealing going into last nights game), no starting pitching , terrible base running and some of the worst fielding from the left side of the infield we have ever seen....Not to mention an outfierld that ran out the likes of Willingham/Arcia/Doumit/Parmelee for how many games......

Management screwed up by having Hicks up early in the year and then sticking with him with a batting average below sea level. In fact the Twins brain trust might have harmed Hicks so bad that it messes his whole career. All this was accomplished by trading both Span and Revere whom were both fine major league proven center fielders. The Twins simply are a mess and Gardenhire, Rick Anderson and maybe Terry Ryan all have to go. The status quo of "being patient" won't cut it after three terrible seasons!
