They were all great ideas, so I'm hopeful other civic partners will step up and experiment with the other ideas. Especially the adaptive reuse of train coaches as office/gallery space in the MIdway Industrial area.

Hmmmm. So we can move the St. Paul Farmer's Market a few blocks down to the "nature sanctuary" and make room for the new Saints ballpark. How coincidental.

Shades of Bandana Square .. and whatever that other now nearly-deserted 80's-90's downtown 'mecca' was named. And in Minneapolis, we have Riverplace ... and Block E and City Center and ... and ... and. Civic booster-ism never dies ... but it's sappy-happy ideas die in droves.

“We don’t know whether [$1 million] will be enough,” Thank you STrib. At least I got a good laugh out of one article this morning!

Watch that space closely readers... another massive sinkhole has opened on the eastern edge of downtown St. Paul. Why even bother renovating a 100+ year old falling-down wreck of a building when for less money a modern, well-designed building could be built? That way as the dump trucks filled with the millions in taxpayer's money can be more easily tipped into an art deco styled hole.
