Twins farm report: Ranking the top 10 minor league prospects

The Twins have one of the top farm systems in baseball, largely because of Byron Buxton and Miguel Sano. The two check in at No. 1 and No. 3 on mlb.com’s top prospects list. Both put up eye-popping numbers in several categories this year.

not a lot of hope in the pitching area but Sano and Buxton may make the club next year...heck why not...I'm still not impressed by Florimon and Dozier's way overrated...come on up boys...challange these guys...

Sadly these are not the top 10 Twins prospects....Polonco is ranked #20 and where is Santana a shortstop who finished the year at .297?

I hope Sano has attituede. After the quiet leadership of the M&M team a little "fire" would help the fan's interest. I hope Sano stops to admire all of his home runs and anyone in the Twin's organization that hates that should be removed from their post. Seriously, enough milk toast. We want confidence, arrogance and raw ability. How fun could that be?

This is the only article regarding the Twinkies that I'm interested in.

Most of these guys were drafted in the last couple of years when they had a top 4 pick. What I want to know is why haven't they produced any positional players or pitching in the last four years? The scouting department was asleep at the wheel. Time to hold Deron Johnson accountable and get rid of him. It's easy to draft a decent prospect while drafting in the top 4, but to not produce a quality starter in four years means your scouting department has failed.

The Twins have not produced any pitching in the minors because Ryan will not sign or draft pitchers who will command a big payday someday. They only look for low strikeout, pitch to contact soft tosser's who supposedly have good command. Look at the pitchers this organization has traded or gave away for nothing. Garza, Santana, Liriano, heck even Baker, all high strikeout pitchers?

And the Twins major league roster isloaded with AAA prospect also. We are loaded with prospects. All low paid nothings while the Pohlads line their pockets with major league money. Once these "prospects" come to fruition our blessed owners will just trade them away for more "prospects" instead of doing what he said he would do with all the "New Stadium" income and actually pay the good players and keep them.

Good I hope Sano shows fire and leadership. We thought our home town hero woud show some fire and leadership but that hasn't and won't happen.

Most of our prospects are already starting on the team. We can only hope these guys will be better then our very average rookies so far. Unless the Pohlads spend some money on quality veteran players it will take several more losing seasons before the Twins will be contenders again.

Most of our roster is now in Rochester including Hicks, Parmalee, Escobar,Diamond, Worley, Gibson and Blackburn. Are they still prospects too?
