Thank you, Julie, for taking on this important topic. The amount of conflicting information is staggering, and so many women refrain from doing anything. I believe there are many options to help a woman navigate this transformation, but what is right for one may not be right for another. I would suggest finding a doctor and an integrative practitioner that is willing to an individual as an individual.

giesegirl1 - You said it! I started the change at age 42. I am now 51 and still refrain from using hormone therapy. Since opinions put forth by the medical community differ greatly and also do change significantly from year to year, I have not and will not try any herbal supplements either. Hopefully they will soon define a sure-fire safe set of treatment plans to alleviate problematic menopausal symptoms.
