Frustrated by the trade, but he’s happy for Morneau.

At least it's Mayo, and not the same doctors who can't seem to diagnose a torn labrum or ACL.

This team is currently full of fourth outfielders, #5 starters, utility infielders, and one extensive catcher. The last three years are just the tip of the iceberg people, buckle up.

I'm thinking Mauer may eventually join the ranks and want to be traded (versus staying his entire career here). Finding a team willing to take his contract will be tough. I agree with thome2011. And, I don't feel this year has been much of an improvement at all. I still feel we're pretty close to where we were at the end of last year (maybe a notch better, but no better). I'm hoping they have finally settled in on a second-baseman in Dozier. Otherwise, this is largely a AAA team playing major league baseball. Look at the batting averages and ERA during a given game. Not hard to see why the team is headed for another 90-loss season.

what a neat story...How cool would it be that you stay with Justin for years...We pay 40 million between the two of you so you can be with your "bud..." Wouldn't that be cool...Well grow up Mauer....Go home and watch the babies...You really need to get a head for the business world....

I'd bet that an announcement will be made sometime next week that Joe is shutting it down for the rest of the year. Boy at $24M per he sure doesn't seem all that interested or motivated to work......

Win 20 or 30 more games per year and you can play with all the buddies you want, Joe.

It is very sad how trades and free agency has eliminated any talent that was on this roster. Other than Mauer, there isn't one starter on this team that would find much playing time on any other MLB team. Just remember, build it and we will be able to keep and attract talent. Hook, line, and sinker.

Joe's situation reminds me of Kevin Garnett's. Joe will be traded in 2-3 years to 'pursue a championship' ... likely with the Cardinals who don't go too many years in a row with losing records!

Two players pulling 38 million out of a 55 million dollar annual payroll and losing over 90 games every year simply makes no sense. Perhaps if Joey actually earned his salary and translated the salary into wins, Morneau could be resigned for two or three mullion per year.

The Twins are still hurting due to the catastrophic moves made while Terry Ryan was on his sabbatical. It makes me sick as a fan and I'm sure it is a hundred times worse as a player. If the Pohlads are going to be so tight with daddy's money they should sell the team to an owner who wants to win. If not, Joe should go to a team that plays meaningful games in July.
