Ramsey County wants to buy troubled Vadnais Sports Center

Citing 11 aging ice arenas elsewhere, Chairman Rafael Ortega called this an opportunity the county should seize.

Why can't government officials just say NO to more spending. This is another $13,000,000 the county doesn't have and will only mean our taxes have to keep going up! STOP SPENDING!

No. No no no. We don't need it, we don't want it. Vadnais Heights couldn't make it work. We don't need to bail them out. Not our job. They're always complaining about how they have to pay taxes for all those loafers in St. Paul, well now they want those loafers in St. Paul to pay taxes to buy them out of their trouble. No thanks.

Gosh! Who could have guessed - a sports venue that can't pay it's own way? Has anybody told the governor or Ted Mondale about this yet? (think - people's stadium)
